The Made In Seasoned 12" Carbon Pizza Steel is a pre-seasoned baking steel for restaurant-quality, brick-oven-style pizza crusts in a home oven — now $34.50, half off the $69.00 compare-at price. Order online and save an extra 10% with coupon EDGE10.
Place the steel on the upper-middle rack and preheat at your oven's maximum setting (typically 500–550°F) for 45–60 minutes so the steel is fully saturated with heat.
Launch your pizza onto the hot steel with a peel or parchment. The steel's heat retention browns the bottom in 5–8 minutes; finish under the broiler for leopard-spotted corners.
The steel arrives pre-seasoned — no initial seasoning required. Bake bread, naan, and flatbreads to build the surface further.
Let cool, scrape off residue, wipe with warm water (no soap), dry immediately, and rub with a thin coat of neutral oil. Never soak or dishwash.
If you bake pizza at home, yes — the thermal mass of steel transfers heat far faster than a stone, producing crispier crusts in less time, without the cracking risk of ceramic stones. The perforated design adds airflow that solid steels and stones can't match.
Compared to pizza stones: the steel won't crack from thermal shock, heats faster, and browns better. Compared to cast iron pans: half the weight, with perforations for crisping. Compared to the 2.0 solid versions, the perforated design trades a flat deck for superior airflow and browning.

No — it arrives pre-seasoned with coconut and shea nut oil. Simply maintain it by wiping with a thin coat of neutral oil after cleaning.
Cool fully, scrape residue, wipe with warm water (no soap), dry immediately, and oil lightly. Never soak or dishwash.
Yes — steel transfers heat far faster than a stone for crispier crusts, won't crack from thermal shock, and at $34.50 (50% off) it's an affordable upgrade over stones and cast iron.
Preheat your oven as hot as it goes — typically 500–550°F — for at least 45 minutes so the steel is fully saturated with heat.
I've been baking bread and pizza for over twenty years and this steel finally gave me the brick-oven bottom crust I could never get on a stone. The perforations let moisture escape so the base crisps instead of steaming. Preheating for 45 minutes is worth it. My Margherita came out with leopard-spotted char on the bottom in about 6 minutes at 550°F. Cleanup is easy since it's pre-seasoned. Worth every penny of the sale price.
First pizza night with this steel and the family was blown away. Crust was crispy, chewy, perfect. Wish I'd bought one years ago.
The thing is seriously heavy, so plan your storage and be careful getting it in and out of the oven. That said, the performance is unbeatable. My sourdough pizza bakes in under 7 minutes with a crisp, blistered bottom that no pizza stone ever gave me. Works fine on my induction cooktop too if I want to use it as a griddle. Would recommend to any serious home baker.
Makes an excellent pizza crust, no complaints there. But the size and weight make it a genuine two-handed job every time I want to use it, and storing it is a hassle in my small kitchen. It also takes a while to preheat fully. If you have the space and patience, it's great. I just don't reach for it as often as I expected.
Perfect crust, super quality. Buy it.
Got this for my husband's birthday because he's been trying to recreate his favorite Neapolitan spot's pies for years. He was skeptical about the price even at the discount, but after two weeks of near-daily pizza making he says it's the best kitchen purchase we've made. The steel heats evenly and the pre-seasoning means no fussy first-time prep. Just note that you need a good pizza peel and some technique to launch the pie onto it.
Bought this mostly for bread baking and it doubles beautifully as a plancha on my induction hob. Excellent Swedish craftsmanship, feels like it will outlive me. The seasoning arrived intact with no rust or smell.
Mine showed up with the seasoning flaked off in several spots and light surface rust. Customer service was responsive, but I had to re-season the whole thing myself before first use. Performance afterward was fine, just disappointed in the condition on arrival.
