The Made In 8" Chef Knife is a fully forged, full-tang chef knife crafted in Thiers, France by a 5th-generation bladesmith, with a nitrogen-treated X50CrMoV15 stainless steel blade and an olive wood handle. It is the daily workhorse for home cooks and culinary enthusiasts who want restaurant-quality versatility. Buy online today for $77.65, down from $179 — a $101.35 discount — plus coupon EDGE10 for another 10% off.
Sharpen your Made In chef knife with a whetstone at roughly 15–20 degrees per side, or use a quality honing steel weekly to realign the edge between sharpenings. The nitrogen-treated X50CrMoV15 steel holds its edge longer than standard stainless, so sharpening is needed less often.
The Made In chef knife is not dishwasher safe — hand wash with warm soapy water, dry immediately, and never soak the olive wood handle. Condition the olive wood occasionally with food-safe mineral oil to prevent drying and cracking.
Made In knives are backed by the brand's craftsmanship guarantee; register your knife after purchase and contact Made In support for warranty details on manufacturing defects.
This knife excels at slicing, dicing, chopping, mincing, deboning, and scoring dough — replacing a drawer of specialty knives. Compared to stamped German or Japanese alternatives at this price, the full-forged construction, French Thiers craftsmanship, and full tang balance deliver more durability per dollar. At $77.65 vs. $179, this is the affordable entry into professional-grade cutlery.

I've cooked professionally for 12 years and this is the knife I reach for at home every single day. The edge holds beautifully and the olive wood handle feels like it was shaped for my hand. Worth every penny even before the discount.
Sliced through a butternut squash like it was butter. Handle is gorgeous.
The blade profile is a little different from my old German knife so it took a few dinners to adjust, but now I love it. Tomatoes, herbs, chicken — everything cuts clean. The full tang gives it a nice heft without being tiring.
At $77 this was a steal. You can feel the forging quality the second you pick it up — perfectly balanced, no gaps in the handle, and the steel takes a frightening edge. My sous chef asked where I got it within ten minutes of using it at his place. Shipping was fast too.
No complaints about sharpness or construction. Just a heads up that it's more blade-heavy than some might like, which bothered my wrist during long prep sessions. Quality is definitely there though.
The olive wood grain on mine is stunning — no two handles look alike apparently. Cuts onions without making me cry as much (less crushing, cleaner cells, I think?). It's become my everyday driver.
Great knife generally but I hit a small bone while breaking down a chicken and got a tiny chip in the edge. My fault probably, but softer German steel would have rolled instead. Still use it weekly after a reprofile.
He does all the cooking and he literally texted me from work to say he couldn't wait to come home and use it again. The handle looks like art sitting on the magnetic strip.
I'm 5'2" with short fingers and most 8" knives feel like cleavers to me. This one balances just behind the bolster so it feels nimble. Only reason it's not 5 stars is I wish it came with a blade guard at this price point.
Replaced a $30 grocery store knife and honestly didn't know dicing could feel this effortless. Also hand-wash only per the instructions, but that takes thirty seconds. Zero regrets.
