Bought these for my wife's birthday and she was blown away. The olive wood grain on each handle is unique and honestly too pretty to hide in a drawer, though the organizer does a great job protecting them. Every knife is razor sharp and the nakiri has completely changed how fast she preps vegetables. You can feel the French and Italian craftsmanship immediately. Would absolutely recommend as a gift or a self-upgrade.
I'm 58 and have owned a lot of knife sets over the years, from cheap blocks to expensive German steel. This set holds its own with anything I've used. The chef knife rocks smoothly for mincing garlic, the bread knife handles my homemade loaves beautifully, and the paring knife is the perfect little workhorse. Six months in and everything still shaves paper. The olive wood has aged nicely with a bit of mineral oil.
The cutting performance is everything promised — sharp, balanced, comfortable. I'll note that olive wood handles need a little care: hand wash only, dry right away, occasional oiling. That's fine by me for how good they look and feel. The organizer keeps blades protected and my drawer neat.
Coming from a $60 big-box set, the difference is night and day. The chef knife glides through onions without bruising, and the bread knife is easily the best I've used at any price. Wood handles are comfortable even after an hour of meal prep. Would give five stars if the set included a utility knife, but as-is it covers the essentials well.
These are beautifully made and very sharp, no arguments there. The fully forged construction makes them heavier than what I was used to, and my wrist noticed during big prep sessions at first. I've adapted and appreciate the quality now, but smaller-handed cooks should know what they're getting.
Excited to receive these but the paring knife had a noticeable chip in the olive wood handle right out of the box, plus the tip looked slightly ground unevenly. Customer service is working on a replacement, so credit there, but quality control let this one slip. Hoping the replacement matches the reviews.
I never thought I'd love a vegetable knife this much. Whole set is excellent, organizer is genuinely useful.
