The Global SAI-3001 3-piece knife set with hammered non-stick Cordova 18 stainless steel blades and ergonomic samurai-dot handles covers everyday prep without a knife block — on sale for $96.97, down from $349.95, for online purchase at Honed Edge Cutlery.
Categories : Knife Sets
SKU : HON-KNI-381
The Global SAI-3001 3-piece knife set — 7.5" Santoku, 6" Utility, and 3.5" Paring — is designed by legendary industrial designer Komin Yamada for home cooks and professionals who want premium Japanese performance in everyday prep knives. At the current price of $96.97, marked down from $349.95, this is the affordable way to buy SAI online today at Honed Edge Cutlery.
The SAI-3001 includes three knives: a 7.5" Santoku, a 6" Utility, and a 3.5" Paring. No knife block is included, and no storage is included with this set — the knives come without a block, so buyers should plan for separate storage such as the Global G-667/16 case or a magnetic strip.
Cordova 18 steel is tempered and hardened to hold razor-sharp edges longer than standard steel while resisting rust, stains, and corrosion. The hammered finish creates air pockets that release food while cutting, giving non-stick slicing of vegetables, proteins, and herbs.
The Santoku handles chopping, dicing, and mincing; the Utility knife handles mid-size fruits, sandwiches, and trimming; the Paring handles peeling and detail work. Lightweight, balanced, and easy to maneuver for long prep sessions.
Compared to the classic Global G-series, SAI features the hammered Cordova 18 finish, longer curved handles with samurai dots, and a more premium look. Compared to block sets at this price point, the SAI-3001 offers exclusive steel and designer ergonomics — just add storage separately.

Usually in a set there's one dud, but not here. The santoku is my everyday workhorse, the utility knife handles sandwiches and tomatoes, and the paring knife is perfect for detail work. Hammered finish really does prevent sticking.
These sell for nearly $350 at full price and honestly even that would be fair. Sharp, comfortable, and gorgeous on the counter.
Came scary sharp and has held the edge well for three months. No knife block included, which I actually prefer since I use a magnetic strip anyway.
After 20 years using supermarket knife sets, cutting onions with these felt like a revelation. The samurai-dot handles are comfortable even after a long session of Sunday meal prep. My paring knife had been dull since 2019, so having a genuinely sharp one is delightful. Worth the investment.
The quality is there, no complaints about the knives themselves. But I do miss having an 8-inch chef knife in the lineup; the santoku covers most tasks but not all. For the sale price it's still a good deal.
Bought this when moving into my first apartment and it covers everything I cook. The santoku chops vegetables like a dream and cleanup takes seconds.
