Tramontina 7 Quart Oval Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven (Three-Coat Porcelain Enamel)

I've owned a French brand Dutch oven for years and this one holds its own at a fraction of the cost. The three-coat enamel is smooth and shows no chips after months of use. My no-knead bread comes out with a perfect crackly crust. The 7 quart oval shape fits a whole chicken beautifully.

Braise, roast, simmer — this pot does it all. Heavy and well made, oven safe up to high temps, and the enamel interior wipes clean even after tomato sauce sits overnight (totally my fault). Gifted one to my daughter for Christmas.

This is a workhorse. I've made beef bourguignon, chili, sourdough, and pulled pork in it over the past four months. The porcelain enamel has held up with zero chips. Only nitpick is the lid doesn't seat quite as snugly as my old pot, but self-basting still works fine.

No complaints on performance — searing, braising, all great. Just note that 7 quarts of cast iron is HEAVY. I struggle to move it when full. If you have a smaller household, consider a smaller size. Quality itself seems solid.

I am not gentle with my cookware. Dropped the lid on the counter once and it survived without a mark. Three coats of enamel apparently matters. Braises beautifully, heats evenly, no hot spots on my induction cooktop.

The color is gorgeous, looks great going straight from oven to table. Guests always ask about it. Made short ribs in it last weekend and they were fall-apart tender. Cleanup is a breeze, just warm soapy water.

Used wooden utensils only, but the bottom enamel still shows scratches and a couple of small chips near the rim. Works fine for now but I'm worried about the long term. Disappointing given the chip-resistant claim.

Seven quarts is exactly what I needed for soup night with four kids. Holds a double batch of everything. Heats slowly but evenly and retains heat forever, which is perfect for serving straight at the table.

My braises have never been better. Excellent value.
