The Made In Nakiri Knife is a French-made, Japanese-inspired blade built for speed and precision chopping of vegetables. It's the best fit for home cooks who prep large volumes of produce and want a flat, push-cut edge. Current price: $30.00 – 50% off the $60 compare-at price – plus coupon EDGE10 for another 10% off.
The nakiri is a dedicated vegetable knife. The flat, rectangular blade makes full-contact push cuts through onions, carrots, cabbage, herbs, and greens – fast, even, precise slices with every cut reaching the board.
Yes – it's arguably the best knife shape for vegetable chopping. The flat edge rocks less but slices cleaner than a chef's knife for produce work.
Sharpen with a whetstone or quality sharpener at a consistent angle; the straight edge makes home sharpening easy. Hand wash and dry immediately; never put it in the dishwasher. Store on a magnetic strip or blade guard.
Versus a santoku, the nakiri's flat blade gives cleaner, fuller cuts for vegetables; the santoku adds curve for rocking. Versus a chef's knife, the nakiri wins on produce speed but isn't for butchery. Pair it with a chef's knife for a complete set.
At $30.00 you save $30.00 (50% off) – with coupon EDGE10 taking 10% more off and free shipping on orders over $45.00. Add it to a cookware order to hit free shipping. Buy this French-made nakiri online now.

Choose the nakiri for pure vegetable precision and cleaner slices; choose a santoku if you want a curved edge for rocking cuts and mixed tasks.

The flat profile makes push-cutting through veggies effortless. Onions, peppers, butternut squash—no problem. Half the price of my Japanese nakiri and arguably sharper out of the box.
Great knife once you adjust to the straight edge. Not for rocking cuts, but for up-down chopping it's outstanding.
I do Sunday meal prep for the week and this knife has been a revelation. The tall blade knuckles clear the board and the edge glides through carrots and sweet potatoes without wedging. At $30 with the coupon this is absurd value.
As advertised, this is a vegetable knife. Don't try to break down chicken or cut through squash stems. For pure chopping it's excellent, but know what you're buying. Edge retention seems decent after six weeks.
My fault probably, but I tapped this against a bag of frozen blueberries and the edge chipped. Sharpened it out fine, but harder steel means be careful what you cut.
I own knives costing four times as much and I reach for this nakiri most days. French steel with Japanese geometry is a great combo. The handle is comfortable for long prep sessions and the blade is scary sharp.
Fast, clean cuts every time. Love it.
I cook vegetarian most nights and this knife handles everything from herbs to celeriac. It took me a week to adjust to the flat edge but now I'm faster than ever with my old chef's knife. Wish it came with a blade guard though.
Arthritis makes gripping narrow knives painful, but the nakiri's wide blade and balanced handle let me chop with barely any pressure. The sharpness does the work. My mother had a nakiri and I've wanted one for decades—this French version is beautifully made. Wish I'd bought it years ago instead of struggling with dull knives.
Paper-thin cucumber slices, perfect brunoise, clean herb chiffonade. This knife does everything a good nakiri should. The stainless is easy to maintain and the edge touched up beautifully on my whetstone.
Excellent grind, great geometry, comfortable handle. Only complaint is that the finish on the handle shows knife-belt marks up close. Performance is 5 stars though.
Out of the box it was sharp-ish but not shave-sharp like some reviews claimed. Ten minutes on a stone fixed that. Now it chops great. Three stars for the factory edge, four or five for the knife itself.
