The Global G-80338 3-Piece Knife Set pairs the G-80 7" Hollow Ground Santoku, GS-3 5" Cook's Knife, and GS-38 3.5" Paring Knife — all forged from one piece of CROMOVA 18 stainless steel. The santoku's hollow ground edge releases thin slices of vegetables cleanly, the 5" cook's knife handles everyday prep, and the paring knife covers detail work — one set covering most kitchen tasks. Sand-filled hollow handles deliver the perfect balance Global is known for.
Buying these three knives individually costs well over $150. Comparable German sets (Wüsthof, Zwilling) are heavier and pricier; this set offers lighter, sharper Japanese steel at $84.98 — the affordable way into authentic Global quality.

Replaced a mismatched drawer of dull knives with this set and cooking has genuinely become more fun. The hollow ground santoku is the star, releasing thin slices of onion and cucumber effortlessly, and the cook's knife handles bigger chopping jobs with ease. The little paring knife is sharp enough to do detail work without fighting the food. All three feel light and balanced in the hand. At 58% off, this is honestly the best value knife purchase I've made.
You get Global quality and edge retention across three genuinely useful knives. My only nitpick is that the set doesn't include a utility knife, which I find myself missing sometimes. Still, what's here covers 90% of daily prep. Very happy with the purchase.
Sharp out of the box. Santoku is fantastic.
I've owned Globals for years so when my daughter moved out I ordered this set for her. She called me after the first dinner she cooked to rave about them. Lightweight, easy to sharpen, and the one-piece steel construction means no gunk hiding in handle seams. A set like this will last her decades if she cares for it.
The steel and edges are excellent, no complaints there. But coming from heavier German knives, the forward balance and hollow steel handles felt odd for the first couple of weeks. Cutting performance won me over eventually. If you prefer weighty knives, try before you buy.
The santoku and cook's knife were flawless, but the paring knife had a bent tip straight out of the box. Support is handling a replacement so I'm hopeful, but for a set at this price point the quality control should be better. Reserving judgment until the replacement arrives.
I mainly bought this set for the hollow ground santoku and it has exceeded expectations. Thin slices of squash, chicken, anything, all come off clean without sticking to the blade. The other two knives are legitimately good too, not filler pieces. Wish I'd made the switch years ago.
The edges came sharp and hold up well to weekly home use. Sharpening CROMOVA steel took me a few sessions to figure out since it's a bit harder than my old knives. Once dialed in, though, the performance is superb. The discount makes this an easy recommendation.
I bought this set two years ago during a similar sale and figured I'd leave an overdue review. All three knives are still in rotation, edges still restore quickly with a few passes on a whetstone, and there's zero rust despite my less-than-perfect drying habits. The santoku has become my default knife for almost everything. These things are built to last.
