The Tramontina Professional Forged 5 Inch Santoku Knife is a compact santoku for precision mincing, dicing, and slicing – ideal for small hands, small kitchens, and detailed prep work. Buy it online for $22.48, 50% off the $44.95 compare-at price, with coupon EDGE10 for extra savings and free shipping over $45.
The wide blade and granton-style edge profile excel at chopping herbs, dicing onions and garlic, slicing vegetables, and mincing meat – a nimble alternative to a full-size chef knife.
Sharpen at approximately 15–20 degrees per side with a whetstone, then hone with light rod strokes. Hone regularly between sharpening to maintain the forged edge.
Hand wash and dry – dishwasher detergents and rattling can dull the edge and damage the handle.
Forged construction and heritage craftsmanship place this santoku above stamped budget knives, and the $22.48 sale price undercuts comparable forged santokus. Stack coupon EDGE10 for an extra 10% off.

Out of the box this thing was scary sharp. The 5 inch blade is perfect for my small hands and my crowded kitchen drawer. It handles onions, carrots, and boneless chicken with zero effort. At this price with the coupon it's honestly a steal.
I have a knife block full of expensive German steel and somehow this little santoku is the one I reach for every single day. The compact size gives me way more control than a full 8 inch chef knife, and the granton edge keeps slices from sticking. The handle is comfortable even during long prep sessions. For $22 I'd buy another as a backup.
Been using it for about six weeks. Still slices tomatoes cleanly with just a quick hone. The forge quality feels solid for the price point. Docking one star because the handle has a slight seam where it meets the tang, but it hasn't loosened or collected gunk.
It's a nice knife, sharp and well balanced, but I underestimated how compact a 5 inch blade really is. Fine for small jobs, a bit cramped for big batches of chopping.
At 68 I can't grip a heavy knife for long anymore. This santoku is light, the handle is easy to hold, and it does most of the work for me. Chopping vegetables used to be a chore and now it's almost fun.
Bought this to try the santoku style before spending real money. Now I get the hype. Rock chopping works okay, but it really shines with straight down slicing. Dishwasher safe apparently but I hand wash to keep the edge.
Loved it at first, but I found two small chips in the edge after a few weeks of normal home use. Never hit bone or anything hard. Maybe I got a bad batch, but I expected better durability from forged steel.
Came razor sharp. Cuts like a dream.
Bought two, one for me to test first. Quality is honestly better than the price suggests. My daughter is a college student and this is the perfect size for a tiny kitchen.
I'm in my second year of culinary school and needed a backup knife that wouldn't break the bank. This santoku performs way above its price class. The steel takes a sharp edge quickly on my whetstone and the fit and finish is clean. Instructors were surprised when they checked the price. Would recommend to any student or home cook.
