Tramontina Bestow 7 Quart Enameled Cast-Iron Oval Dutch Oven

Baked my first sourdough loaf in this and the crust was incredible. Beautiful color too.

I've wanted an oval Dutch oven for years but couldn't justify the fancy brands. This Tramontina delivers everything I need: heavy enameled cast iron, even heat, a lid that sits snugly, and seven whole quarts of capacity. I've made beef bourguignon, chicken stock, and two loaves of bread in the first month. The enamel interior shows no staining so far and wipes clean with almost no effort. Extremely satisfied.

It's a beast to lift when full — that's cast iron for you. Cooks beautifully though and the oval shape fits whole chickens perfectly. Would buy again.

I know cast iron enamel shouldn't go in the dishwasher and I take partial blame, but the rim enamel chipped slightly after a few cycles. Still cooks perfectly and I now hand wash only. Lesson learned, just wish it was more forgiving.

Seven quarts is genuinely huge — I made chili for twelve people and still had leftovers. The oval shape is more practical than round for roasts and poultry. Heats slowly but holds temperature like a champ, which is exactly what you want for braising. The enamel color is rich and it looks lovely going straight from oven to table.

Cooks evenly and the lid fits well with minimal steam escape. The handles are a bit small for oven mitts but manageable. Half the price of the big names and honestly close in quality.

My wife and I make a big pot of soup every Sunday and this has become the star of our kitchen. Holds heat for ages so second helpings are still hot. Cleanup takes two minutes.

I've owned several Dutch ovens over the decades and this one holds its own against any of them. The enamel is smooth and even, the cast iron is thick, and nothing has rusted or stained in six months of heavy use. My beef stew recipe turned out better than ever in this pot. A terrific bargain at this price.

The oval shape gives my batards room to spread and the heavy lid traps steam perfectly for that crackly crust. Preheats evenly at 475°F with no issues. I use it three or four times a week and it still looks brand new. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.
