The engraved Aggies knob is gorgeous and the enameled cast iron braises like a dream. My chili was restaurant-quality on the first try. Worth every penny at this sale price.
Heavy, well-made, holds heat beautifully. The knob engraving is crisp and clear. Only wish it came with a bigger color selection, but no complaints otherwise.
Cooking performance is excellent, but at 5.5QT of cast iron this thing is a workout to move around. My wife can barely lift it full. Great braise results though.
Dad is a lifelong Aggie and he nearly teared up when he unboxed this. He's already made beef tips and sourdough in it. Says it's the nicest piece of cookware he's ever owned. Quality is genuinely on par with the French brands at a fraction of the price. Ordered a second one for my brother.
Mine arrived with a small chip on the rim. Amazon replaced it quickly, but the second one had a rough spot on the interior enamel too. Cooking works fine so far, but for the money even discounted, I expected better quality control.
Every watch party, this pot comes out. Queso, chili, wings sauce, you name it. The maroon enamel starts conversations. Cleans up with just a soak.
Hand-enameled cast iron is the real deal. Even heating, no hot spots, and the lid seals in moisture beautifully for pot roast. This will outlive me.
Got this with the coupon for under $100 and it performs like a $300 cocotte. Bread bakes up with a perfect crust. Handle gets hot, use an oven mitt, but that's true of any cast iron.
Excellent heat retention and the engraved knob is a nice touch. Highly recommend for any Texas A&M household.
I've done short ribs, pulled pork, and chicken cacciatore in the first month. Everything came out tender and flavorful. It's heavy and the enamel needs gentle handling, but those are minor tradeoffs.
Class of '89 grad. She uses it every Sunday for sauce now and shows it off to her friends. The engraving is beautifully done and the pot itself is legitimately excellent cookware, not just fan merch.
